Our office (a Vancouver-based non-profit) recently hired Urban Roots Build Co. to manage and execute a renovation project replacing carpet and paint throughout, upgrading bathrooms for better accessibility and setting up automated doors. Our team chose them because they offer the full package, could manage the whole project and complete all the pieces we wanted, AND they were willing to support the restrictions we had as a non-profit. We loved working with them because they made it easy and seamless, were flexible with our work and staff needs, professional and responsible and took care of our space. It was easy to rely on them and their communication was transparent and responsive. We gutted and renovated full kitchen, extended deck and roofline, installed new siding, upgraded front door area and converted an old carport garage into a fully insulated garage. It was a big renovation for us, and we are thrilled with the final product.
We had the pleasure of working with Urban Roots Build Co. for our renovations. Mark and Grant were super professional and very prepared from the first client meeting to the budget meeting and all the way throughout the renovation.
I was very impressed by the troubleshooting, quick thinking and actions they took when things didn’t go as planned – as they always do in any renovation. But they never appeared stressed and provided quick and costly solutions.
The trades they use are top quality, professional, respectful and courteous. Always felt safe at home with the trades that they hired.
Mark and Grant are knowledgeable, professional and have pride in completing the renovation correctly and as quickly as possible. Throughout the renovation and after they communicated quickly and respectfully whenever we had any questions or concerns.

They are professional, courteous and abilities topnotch.
Important to us are communication and punctuality. When they say they will be there, they are.
We had both bathrooms renovated, the main included removal of tub and replacing it with a rain shower and a heated floor. Also the kitchen has new cabinets, sink, counter tops and lighting.
Their tradesmen were first class.
There was never any problem with site preparation, to safeguard our belongings, as well as , daily cleanup and/or cartage.
We are very pleased with our renovation.

We’ve all heard the renovation nightmare stories –it drags on and on, over budget, poor workmanship etc. NOT with Urban Roots Build Co. Despite a tight timeline my kitchen renovation and bathroom refresh were completed on time and under budget.
Mark and Grant are knowledgeable, professional and meticulous. Communication was excellent – I was always aware of the next steps. Concerns/questions are dealt with promptly and respectfully. Billing is transparent – there are no surprises. All the trades were courteous and tidy. Mark and Grant want you to be happy with the finished product and the best part is they are genuinely nice people who are a pleasure to work with.

Had a wonderful experience with the renovations in my home last Spring with Urban Roots. Mark has a great, warm personality, answered all my questions, gave sound advice and ideas and quoted a reasonable cost for what I wanted done. All the sub-contractors he brings for the various jobs to be completed are the same. I was very inquisitive and each individual took the time to explain their crafts while working on the living, dining rooms, hallways and bathrooms. I learned about flooring, woodwork, window coverings, painting, plumbing, electrical and the complete demolition/rebuilding of the main bathroom. I enjoyed their company and will have them all back for further renos. The areas were cleaned when finished and all debris taken away. You would never know the reno mess occured. Guess that means - fill the cookie jar and put on the coffee pot!! Mark is my 'to go to guy'

Mark & Grant helped us when we were in dire need to properly reinforce a bowed exterior wall on our Pan Abode log home. We received many quotes from various contractors/builders. Ultimately decided to go with Urban Roots for their on site professionalism, past project portfolio, empathy, and comfort regarding their quoted price being on budget.
At the end of the day they did an overall excellent job. They worked with an engineer to provide an affordable permanent solution. I would not only use them again, but I'd go as far as recommending them to my closest friends and family.

I first contacted Mark at Urban Roots contracting after observing the work that the company was doing on a neighbour’s house. The exterior of my home required painting and repair due to exposure to the elements. Upon attending my home he conducted a thorough assessment of the repairs that would be required and provided a quote within a few days. The work was completed on time and exceeded my expectations in terms of quality. It also came in under budget.
